Quick Breakdown

6/10

Of the 20 standard color models we went for 15.6in in Mint Green, overall material has lasted throughout our testing. The outer shell is comfortable to the touch. The straps and back have very little padding however so if you have some weight in the main compartment you will definitely feel it.

For a 25L bag this had a surprising amount of pockets and compartments. The front pocket is very convenient to reach and grab like a wallet or phone. The main compartment was a little more challenging to dig things out and replace them when full. Ultimately the soft fabric cells in this bag hold up nicely and stow away a lot of looser articles.

The honky, flashy zippers are a lot more durable than they look. Typically though we tend to shy away from larger teeth as they are more easily broken into we found the plastic to be tight and requiring more effort to gain entry to

Weighing in 1.7lb, This is perfect for someone who doesn't want to feel the actual bag itself. It feels like tossing around a cloud. We figured all the weight was taken out from the body straps as there's no gel padding or insulation but if you're just going to work or filling a kid's bag with activities chances are you might not even notice this bag.

We tested the 15.6in Laptop Model. Our daughter, stuffing it with everything she would need for a weekend trip had plenty of space left over in this 25L bag. While there are similar models, this fit her 4'2" form factor. She was able to stuff a whole change of clothes, 12in iPad, toiletries bag and a 12in stuffed animal. Not recommended if you're trying replace a suitcase.

With so may colors and sizes to choose from you can really customize your look  with this bag series. It has a chic yet utilitarian design. You can look stylish and organized at the same time, that's just how easy access is and how fashionable the color combos are. If

In-Depth Review

First Impressions

It's easy to just flip past this bag when searching which is why we decided on testing it. At first it looks like any old bag from China, of course it looks good and ticks so many boxes that we just had to make sure it really is as good as they say. There are so many configurations of this bag that we really had trouble dialing in to what we needed it for. It can be a decent day back in the larger versions but we had to ask, who is it for? We decided on my daughter since before this all she had was a Lounge Fly from Disneyland. Although a very quality built brand of bags it lacked in capacity.

Fast forward to today, this bag came about out of necessity and we let her choose the bag and surpisingly even her mom likes this one. Upon arrival it was rolled up in a vacuum sealed bag, so that tells me it can be compacted into another bag, perfect for if you are trying to consolidate, I'd say that's a good first impression. Second, the materials we're nicer quality than we expected. We didn't think much of this as it was less than Target for school bags but sometimes what you pay for is not what you get, in reverse this time.

Build Quality

Build Quality

This backpack boasts a waterproof Nylon shell and polyester lining with cotton padding. The outer shell is water resistant, beading off anywhere from a handful of water to a cup but the zippers do allow some penetration so keep that in mind. Immediately we noticed that the stitching on the straps are a little poorly done and the fabric is not the same on the straps as it is on the main body of the backpack. It would have been nice to have that consistency through and through.

We are aware that most people will not be filling this to the brim but even so, the straps are not built for comfort. With a lightly stitched together padded mesh lining, the straps feel weak and not very supportive. Everything else about this bag is really nice and feels like it was built to last, except the shoulder straps. The handle on top is nicely padded and feels firmly embedded in the top of the bag but the shoulder straps really feel like an after thought.

If you make use of the USB terminal just know it's a two cord deal and they are not included. We recommend a 2-4ft cord inside to connect to the Power Bank like this kit from Amazon. For the connection on the ourside make sure you get a braided or other cord material that can withstand getting snagged or beat on because belive me you it will get beaten up.

Security

Security

In all cases there are some give and takes. You cannot have an omelette without breaking eggs, right? The same is true for bags, except we're not breaking them on purpose to build a better bag. The styling and usefulness of the Lovevook are undoubtedly very nice but this bag must give up something to be something. The zippers are cute, but large teeth are a little easier to break into and on the same note the fabric maybe water resistant but the zippers without a waterproof flap just break that mold.

The nylon shell, although resistant to water can be easily sliced but the caveat to that is with so many pockets and compartments not much will come tumbling out. You can have a decent peace of mind with the anti-theft pocket as it is curved around the back end of the bag so it's not easily accessed without the wearer knowing. The laptopis also well protected by having it's own sleeve within it's own section. One plus too is that unlike other bags like the Tomtoc Navigator T66, where the whole back section can unzip all the way to the base of the bag, the Lovevook only goes half way down which can prevent access.

Capacity

Capacity

This could very well be a multipurpose bag given it's compartments and pockets. But mainly it's the straps on the back side of the main compartment that makes it suitcase friendly. It sports a 25L capacity which is great for a daypack or a plane bag, as you can carry some essentials in there like a change of clothes and snacks. Our main use for this bag is for day trips where we can pack light and still have space for souvenirs.

25L is an excellent size for going on day trips especially considering that up to a 32oz water bottle can be placed in the side pockets leaving more space in the main compartment for goodies. While it may not seem like a lot the way in which this bag is organized, if done right, can really hide away some of your smaller belongings freeing up the bulk of area of this bag.

Organization

Organization

Official literature states it has 4 compartments and 16 pockets, while I won't debate the math, we found a nice hiding spot of all of the things you might carry on an airplane. If you take any of our named Top 10 Travel Accessories, it probably has a space for it in this backpack.

We find that the bulk of our essential gear in other, less organized bags tends to make things very compleicated to retrieve. In days past when we wore bags like Jansport to school, part of being prepared was being able to find your pencils and even fishing out a calculator would be a challenge simply because there were only two pockets. This backpack has 16 pockets to organize so you can almost be sure never to loose anything.

Weight

Weight

What has impressed us the most other than Organization is how light this backpack truly is. With a base wweight of 1.7lbs and a capacity of 25l this impressively light bag is only further improved by the sturdiness of the outer shell. Similar bags weighed around 2.25-3lbs making it an impressive factor when picking the Lovevook 15.6in Laptop Backpack out from the crowd. Since the weight of your bag is directly impacted by what you stuff in there a lighter and more durable bag can really make the difference, especially when traveling abroad.

Another fun addition to this product is the inclusion of a luggage strap. The strap functions as an added way to keep the weight off your body by attaching to your suitcase. Being light weight already, adding the backpack to the suitcase handle is great because it'll be less likely to add to the imbalance of doing that in the first place.

Style

Style

With almost 25 different colors and configurations available we found that everyone on staff can find a combo to their liking. For this review we went with Mint Green, an almost Tiffany Blue turquoise hue and man was this thing pretty. Nothing really seemed to tarnish this color even when dragged through the dirt, the water resistant shell keeps most of the dirt and water off keeping this backpack looking good all the time.

The chevron patterns in the front pockets give it an interesting look and really give it a cute but distinguished look making it appropriate for almost every style. Mint may not match everyone's color palette which we had to take into mind but even when you look at the black with gold/silver accents or the forest greens with gold accents it's hard not to feel attuned with it's style. The soft use of colors gives it more of a feminine touch paired the lack of busy textures or patterns gives this bag a completely classy look.

The
Verdict

Big Question, Is this bag worth it?

Well, this is a close to Maybe but more of a I could pass. This bag is really for people who want a bag that they will use 60% of the space and so they can access what they need without any difficulty. The zippers glide and with enough weight in bag it's smooth like butter. Even though material is dependable and the pocket placement is very convenient we cannot get over how uncomfortable the shoulder straps are. It looks great and will definitely keep you looking good but at the cost of not being a comfortable wear especially with larger pack outs. This is best kept in the light duty travel bag IN ADDITION to a purse or sling as standalone it won't be in long term use.

Score Summary

6/10

Looking good and performing are usually pretty good partners we just wish it had a little bit better Build Quality due to the cheap use of materials on the main reason you buy a backpack, the straps.

Our Opinion

There is no doubt that this backpack has been designed and produced with a single purpose of being bought again. It is pretty looking, well organized, made with a quality shell but where it lacks is in wearing it by itself. It definitely needs to be paired with a purse or some other type of personal bag. Although it has a capacity 25l you will begin to feel the weight of your belongings very quickly as there is no center distribution strap or padding. It works well for lighter travels or for those who evenly distribute their luggage across several pieces like a suitcase and duffel bag.

It is very reasonably priced, coming in or around $36.99 so, if you are looking for a stellar deal on a well organized bag that is a stepping stone for a better one, here you go. It's either that or it's a great bag for children who will eventually burn through it's material with books, toys or just being a kid's backpack. At $36.99 we wouldn't say it's a easily loss to take because money is money but investing in this backpack will hurt a lot less than a generic department store bag which now range from $49-69.99.
