Our Tabi Bitos.
Tabi in Japanese is the word for journey and adding -ista would denote being a specialist or advocate thereof, so Tabinistas is a mish-mash of words that means Journey Specialists or the Advocates of a Journey. We chose this name to share what we know of traveling and preparing for a trip with the world because it can be a daunting task taking on an adventure by yourself.

Born in California, adulting in Hawaii. Graduated Long Island University 2007. BA in Humanities. I wasn't born with traveling in my bones but I sure have grown to love it. Some of my earliest experiences are with typical places nearby my hometown in California, destinations like Yosemite and Disneyland. It wasn't until my High School days where life was less about what I could see and about what I couldn't see. Travel for me has always been a journey more of self discovery rather than a destination checklist. While selfish, being able to see the world through a lens other than my own has allowed me to self reflect and grow richer in experiences. Since working in Hospitality I realized that sharing this personal experiences and recommendations has quickly become a passion of mine because if you ever see that person again they will have seen the world through a new light, even if they don't realize it themselves.
Born in Hokkaido, raised on the Big Island. Been traveling since she was born, literally. Myth, maybe I was born with traveling in my bones but still doesn't diminish my love for it. My Mother was from Hokkaido and my dad from Big Island, Hawai'i so we traveled back and forth so Japan is like my second home. Travel for me has always been a something fun, whether I went to see family or just for the heck of it. While occasionally selfish, travel can be a great way to unwind or discover something new. I always imagined myself as an explorer or archeologist because to me, everything is new and unheard of. Since working in Nails, I come realize that sharing my experiences and recommendations has quickly become a passion of mine because if you ever see that person again they will have seen the world through a new light, even if they don't realize it themselves.
If you're born and raised in the Bay you'll know, there's no place like it. The diversity, the food, the culture and the golden hub of SFO. Can't say I've been traveling for too long but I can say I don't like being under-prepared. I like to have everything I need locked and loaded, ready to fly. Or I like to know where I can get it and that folks is what I want to share with you.
